Violence was not the only way to resist against slavery. Many other ways existed to go against slavery. The underground railroad was a great example on nonviolent way of resisting. Slaves would flee to resist slavery and head north for freedom. Underground railroad is not a railroad or an underground tunnel. Instead, people will just walk toward north for freedom and while heading north, people known as packages or freight will aid the runaways with their necessary supplies. Place called stations were placed while the people escaped. The stations provided many aids and shelter. Through this underground railroad, many people resisted slavery and escaped for freedom. |
